General description
Synaptotagmin-like protein 1 (SYTL1), also known as Exophilin-7, Protein JFC1, and encoded by the gene SYTL1/SLP1, is an important protein in exocytosis. Synaptotagmin-like protein 1 plays a role in vesicle trafficking and is important in exocytosis in lymphocytes and other cells including neurons, platelets and most cells that secrete materials via exocytosis. Synaptotagmin-like protein 1 is highly expressed in bone marrow and lymphoid tissues as well as cerebellum, occipital lobe, prostate, stomach, kidney, appendix, lung and trachea.
